Mark Drummond provided his perspective on the state budget for
the California Community Colleges to the Assembly Budget subcommittee
on education finance on March 7th. The subcommittee held an
overview hearing that "kicks off" the spring budget
hearings. Also providing testimony at the hearing were Secretary
of Education Alan Bersin, Superintendent of Public Instruction
Jack O'Connell, UC President Robert Dynes, and CSU Chancellor
Charlie Reed. The Assembly budget subcommittee plans a hearing
devoted to the Community Colleges budget on March 29th. The
Senate Budget and Fiscal Review subcommittee on education finance
will hold an overview hearing on March 27th at which Chancellor
Drummond will present testimony.
