What's New

  • The Governor’s Campus Sexual Assault Task Force and the California Coalition Against Sexual Assault (CALCASA) announce an opportunity for public comment on the Campus Blueprint to Address Sexual Assault (Blueprint).

    Background: The Blueprint is the result of a state-grant funded research initiative to measure the status of higher education institutional response to sexual assault. The Blueprint will be submitted to the Legislature and Governor and includes recommendations regarding policies, protocols, services, standards and practices for all higher education institutions across the state. Interested parties are invited to review a draft outline of the Blueprint on CALCASA’s homepage, where it will be posted by Friday, November 14th (www.calcasa.org <http://www.calcasa.org>).

    Invitation for Public Comment: Comments may be submitted in writing to CALCASA (1215 K Street, Suite 1100, Sacramento, CA, 95814 attn: CSARP) by November 26, 2003. Interested parties may also attend one of two public hearings, where members of the Governor’s Task Force and the Project Coordinator from CALCASA will present the Blueprint, answer questions and take comments.

Legislation

The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act is the landmark federal law, originally known as the Campus Security Act, that requires colleges and universities across the United States to disclose information about crime on and around their campuses.
