Accountability Measures Proposed
AACC has submitted recommendations to the Department of Education
and Department of Labor for new performance indicators for the
Carl D. Perkins Vocational and Technical Education Act and the
Workforce Investment Act. The proposal
recommends closely linking the indicators used for both acts
to streamline the reporting required of community colleges.
The recommendations would better reflect the missions of community
colleges and the diversity of students they serve, and tie performance
indicators to the actual uses made of federal funds. This proposal,
submitted by the end of May under an agreement with the Department
of Labor, is part of the AACC effort to develop comprehensive
proposals for the reauthorization of both acts in 2003. |
