The Chancellor's Office of
the California Community Colleges is requesting applications (RFAs) to improve
vocational and technical education programs and services for all segments of the
population and to improve access for individuals who are inadequately served or
underrepresented. These activities are consistent with the purposes of the new
Carl D. Perkins Vocational and Technical Education Act of 1998 (VTEA 98) [Public
Law (P.L.) 105-332]; and the vocational education policies adopted by the Board
of Governors of the California Community Colleges. The Statewide Discipline/Industry
